Burke Lake Park has quickly become one of my favorite spots for a family photography session here in Northern Virginia. It's the perfect backdrop for Fall, or any time of year for that matter! This is the second time I've photographed this lovely family and it's really fun to see the kids grow. I was really excited when this past client reached out to have me document their newest addition to their family.
I had the pleasure of photographing her brother's newborn session 3 years prior. I traveled over to their new home in Great Falls VA for her newborn photography session. She was such an easy baby. Korean birthday celebrations or Dol are one of the important facets of Korean culture. The most common meaning is a child's first birthday or Doljanchi.
It can also be used as a generic description for birthdays: Cheot-dol. This was little Joey's Dol and I was beyond excited to document this important time in his life. I also had the pleasure of photographing. This is my third session with this wonderful family.

I'd been thinking about getting family pictures done for some time, and wanted to do them in the Fall so we could have the beautiful foliage as a backdrop.
I was particular about the look/style of the photos I wanted: natural light, modern, and not too posed.
Also, with my son being 9-months old at the time, I wanted the photographer I chose to be able to capture that "glint" in his eyes.
A Google search for "natural light photographer DC area" returned several results and, to narrow them down, I looked at galleries on each photographer's website to determine which ones resonated with what I was looking for.
I was particular about the look/style of the photos I wanted: natural light, modern, and not too posed.
Also, with my son being 9-months old at the time, I wanted the photographer I chose to be able to capture that "glint" in his eyes.

Fresh 48 are special sessions that are held in the hospital or birthing center within 48 hours of birth before baby and mom go home.
These special sessions are a way to forever remember that first (or second) day after baby is born.
Due to the unpredictable nature of deliveries, I accept a limited number of First 48 sessions each month, so I encourage booking while you are in your second or third trimester.
Please note that last minute bookings are accommodated when possible.
Other hospitals will be considered upon request but an additional travel fee will apply for any location more than 45 miles outside of zip code 22079.
