I'm a mom of two, former Broadway stage manager turned photographer, who loves reading books, crafty things, making lists, bullet journals, vision boards, being outdoors, riding my bike, and working toward making my community a better place. I also love documenting people's stories in photos and video: to show your kids where they came from, remind you who you are, and to give you tangible proof that even in craziest of days, your life is pretty damn beautiful.
I love working with families who crave adventure and love being outdoors, parents who yell "party foul!" when a drink is spilled, and don't mind crayon marks on the dining room table. Kids with wild hair and dirty faces who proudly show me their latest creations. Families who, like me, are working toward making this world a better, more loving place for us all.

Let's talk a little bit about the process of how your story session will work so that you know what to expect.
We discuss the story you want to document and decide if this would be more effectively captured through a Photo or Video Story (or both).
You reserve your session date with a retainer fee (ranges between $300-$550 depending on the session type) and a signed contract.
I send you a detailed questionnaire to fill out to help me better understand your story and the people involved.
This questionnaire is key to my story planning, so please think carefully and thoughtfully through your answers.

Story Sessions are crafted to capture real life moments with your family and preserve them into a time capsule to last forever.
They are perfect for documenting the most ordinary of days, and also special occasions and outings.
Sessions are available in three or five-hour lengths, and you can choose whether you would prefer your story captured in documentary photographs, as a hand-crafted family film - or both.
A session fee of $300-$550 (depending on the type of session) reserves your date for a Story Session and includes a phone consultation and my time and talent on the day of the session.

In addition to photographing families, I love helping small businesses, schools, non-profits and inspiring individuals share their mission through visual storytelling.
According to Scientific American, personal stories make up 65% of our conversation.
Stories are how humans process information.
Statistics and research do not compel people to take action, stories do.
They connect to people's emotions, are a great tool for education, and they provide inspiration.

Photographing children as they are (messy, sleepy, slap-happy, cranky, kooky, weird) sends them a powerful message.
It shows them that they are loved just the way they are.
The don't have to be prettier, smarter, or funnier than they already are.
The message for parents is the same.
You are enough.
I believe that photographing the challenges of parenthood and family life helps normalize what it is really like, instead of forcing parents and children to live up to impossible standards.
This project aims to challenge the perfect (and unhealthy) perception of family life perpetuated in the media by Instagram influencers, mommy bloggers, Pinterest, parenting sites and lifestyle magazines and re-write the narrative - that REAL is so much better than perfect.
