I grew up with a camera in my hand.
When I was 10, my family took our first road trip.
We dropped our film at 1-hour photo and retrieved our pictures after lunch.
We spent our free time gluing them into our journals.
By the time we got home, we had pages filled with memories of every single, little detail we'd seen!
It was in that moment that I learned the value of a photograph.
I am proud to call Michigan my home, but I grew up in Southern California and spent some time working in Washington, DC.

There's something about the freedom of space and the crisp fresh air that brightens every face.
Every smile turns into laughter.
Every hug turns into a tickle.
Even when we pause for a moment, to count the petals on a flower or hunt for an interesting bug, the smile is lurking, hiding, just behind that thoughtful look, and pops out again as if you can't help it.
