I'm Rashmi Pappu and I am a portrait and family photographer based in Alexandria, Virginia. For years I have focused my lens on expecting mothers, sleepy newborns, cranky babies, rambunctious children, reticent teens and reluctant spouses to turn everyday moments into lifetime memories. I design my portrait sessions to be low-key and efficient. You will laugh, your smiles will be easy - and you'll see me capture in precious photos the nuances and the love that define your family story.

All sessions take place either at your home or a scenic outdoor location.
Before your session, we will chat about the best time of day for your family, what to wear, and a little bit about your children's personalities.
We will go over pricing and products and any other questions you might have.
Having been a family photographer for over 14 years, there is rarely a situation that I haven't already encountered!
This helps me work efficiently while still keeping the session fun for the entire family.

You can expect a family session to take about an hour, while newborn sessions last at least an hour and a half.
The shorter session does not allow as much time for more spontaneous moments or for us to walk around to a few different spots, but if you are short on time, this would be perfect for you.
For a newborn session, your home is the most comfortable space for you and the baby.
I will bring my lighting equipment so you get a studio experience, in the comfort of your own home.
Create keepsakes of your session with a custom album or framed prints.
