North Texas Asian Photographer's Association (NTAPA) was established in 2003 by a group of people who share the same passion for photography, personal well-being, and environmental stewardship. We aim to promote the art and science of photography through educational experiences, informational sessions, inspiration, and opportunity for self-growth and camaraderie for all persons interested in photography.
NTAPA is a Section 5013 nonprofit organization. Every year we organize various field trips, near and far, led by our experienced members in order to exchange photographic knowledge and promote fellowship. In our monthly meeting we regularly hold art critique sessions and photograph contests. Our members are encouraged to participate in all forms of professional seminars and competitions.
We host multiple local photograph exhibitions at major art centers every year. NTAPA offers public photography education programs, publishes weekly newspaper column, and provides community photography services.

Services
A surefire way to attract a viewer to your images is to emphasize shape, line, patterns and/or textures.
When combined with strong side light, very powerful yet simple images can be created.
Look for contrasts between light and dark areas created by side light.
Study the scene to see how curves play off each other or how they're offset by straight or diagonal lines.
In addition, note how different colors mold or blend together to create patterns.
Minimalism is a somewhat subjective concept in the art world.

I joined the Plano Photography Club over 25 years ago, and I credit joining the club with greatly improving my photography.
The activities, classes, and competitions sharpened my skills and my eye, and I am currently in the Masters Class.
My photography evolved from snap shots to art.
I highly recommend being involved with your photography club; your skills will improve immeasurably.
I have served on the board of PPC in many positions; I was president three times and have been editor of the newsletter, The Flash, since 2010.
